Agnes Riley

“Queen street was alive then”

Agnes sits with some family and friends as she remembers her time in Dumfries. Her stories focus on her flat in Queen Street. She shared her memories about her life with her husband in their flat and going about her daily business in the town centre and the local businesses she visited. She told us about the fashions at the time, particularly the big hats and beautiful coats of the “ladies who lunched” who often visited the cafes during the day.
