John Walsh

“Nith Place has seen great alterations”

John sat down at the Dumfries Day Centre and took us through the trades in St Michael’s street, Nith Place and Burns Street from when he lived on this side of Dumfries as a child. When he moved to Queen Street he told us how surprised he was to have a bath and a toilet inside his new home for the first time in his life. John attended St Andrew’s Primary, where he told us about his unenjoyable encounters with authority.
