Tom & Joan Kirkpatrick

“We used the to call them a gosunder, gosunder the bed”

Tom & Joan met working at the co-operative. Tom brought a list of all the shops in the town centre. He told us about the 21 ironmongers, 6 bakers, 8 fishmongers and 7 greengrocers. They told us about their house on St Michaels Street in 1964, where they had to leave the house and use an outside toilet.
